First Lament
1:1-22

This Lament is an Acrostic, where each line begins with the next letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.
The topic of this Acrostic is the reasons for God's wrath.
Third Lament
3:1-66
This Lament is a triple Acrostic, where each three lines begin with the next letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.
The topic of this Acrostic is a personal testimony of the pain of this tragedy, but also a remembrance and testimony of God's grace and compassion, leading to hope that lament is not the end.
Fourth Lament
4:1-22
This Lament is an Acrostic, where each line begins with the next letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.
The topic of this Acrostic is a contrast between the way it was before and the way it was after, as a means to express grief over the destruction.
Fifth Lament
5:1-22
This Lament is not an Acrostic. It uses each letter once, just not in the alphabetical order.
The topic of this Acrostic is a plea for God's mercy.
